Prayer Ministry at Westside Church

   There are always many things to pray about in our lives. God calls us to be people of prayer (2 Chron 7:14). He calls us to be people that believe there is power in communicating our petitions, praises, worship, or intercessions to our Father. Below is a list of just a few things you can pray about this week, month and year.

Prayer Ministry Description

    Everyone is invited to pre-service prayer every Sunday morning at 10:00am. Also, every couple of months we have Praise and Prayer on a Sunday evening where we come together to worship and pray from 6:30pm - 8:00pm.

Just lately, we've introduced two more opportunities 1) "30 Minutes a Week" prayer for the church (signup is in the foyer at Westside) and 2) Prayer 911 (our new prayer chain). Please talk to Pastor Dwight to get involved.

Items for Which to Pray

Your Personal Walk with the Lord

   God desires our heart. He wants us to have an intimate relationship with Him. You can pray for your own walk with the Lord in regards to: quite time with Him, passion for and consistent reading of His Word, desire to share your faith, passion to give generously, fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:19-23), etc.

Our Church's Walk with the Lord

    God also desires the people of Westside Church to know Him intimately. Pray for people at Westside to know God intimately more each day. That they will walk in the power of the Spirit, that we become a reproducing community of Christ followers that supports and disciples one another; as we live and proclaim his kingdom in the world.

The Needs of our Missionaries

   Take a look at our district missionary page here and pray for the missionaries that we support financially. They can be tired, persecuted, spiritually attacked, financially strained, etc. at any time. Lets lift them up as they sacrifice much for the proclamation of the Gospel.

The Needs of our Surrounding Communities

   Thousands of people drive by our church week. Many do not know Jesus, can feel something is missing in their lives and need our prayers. God calls us to pray for people who do not know Him. Pray that the people in our communities would place God on His rightful throne in their hearts. Pray that their hearts would be softened to the Gospel and that they would one day give their hearts over to and live for Jesus wholeheartedly.

Our Nation and Governments

   The men and women that run our province and country need wisdom. Lets lift them up in prayer so that they can make wise decisions that please our Father. Pray for Christian politicians to rise up and be the voice of God in our assemblies of government.

The World

   Our world will one day be judged. Pray that Christians around our world will be strengthened under persecution and that those who do not know God will come to a saving knowledge of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
